First Grade Seascapes

This project took two sessions to complete. During the first class the students painted their sky and ocean, using tempera paint blended together. We blended blue and green for our water and red and orange to create a sunset in the sky. While the paint was still wet, students added waves in the water and clouds and suns in the sky. During our second work session we created a boat using collage materials.

Kindergarten "Feathered Friends"

This lesson began a drawing lesson in which our kindergarten artists had to carefully follow a set up instructions for creating these simple birds. In our next class session we painted them in using pastel tempera paints. The students enjoyed blending colors together to create new varieties to use. Next session....feathers and googly eyes!
